We are hiring! Belfast-based investment associate wanted.

We are an FCA regulated discretionary fund management and consulting firm providing high-quality execution and administration to the UK asset management sector.  Founded in 2009, we currently manage over 45 funds across a wide range of sectors, bringing together our team's expertise in investment management, corporate finance, accounting and taxation in order to operate funds efficiently.  We are the only B-Corp Certified Northern Ireland based Financial Services Company.

About the Role:

We are looking to hire an investment associate who will be involved with providing fund management services.  This is an entry level position, but with a wide range of responsibilities.  The individual will be involved with all aspects of a fund's lifecycle, from setup to investor onboarding and due diligence, helping monitor the portfolio’s performance and being involved with investor reporting.  More specifically, the role will require the individual to assist with:

  • Investor onboarding.

  • Evaluation of potential investment opportunities for the fund(s), which will include financial due diligence.

  • Compile investment committee, investment management and investor update documentation.

  • Ongoing management of existing investments.

  • Responding to investor and stakeholder inquiries.

  • Sales and marketing efforts and thought leadership initiatives.

  • Digitalisation projects aimed at enhancing both client and customers user experience.

Qualification Requirements:

The successful candidate should have:

  • A genuine interest in early stage investing.
  • Academic accreditation (Bachelors degree or higher) in business, finance, accounting, law, or engineering.
  • Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
  • Coding skills.

If you lack skill in any of those areas listed, but believe that you may be interested in developing these skills, then we would be open to speaking with you about how you believe that you can bring value to our team.  Above all, we require the right collaborative, positive and enthusiastic attitude as well as a genuine desire to learn.

You must have good communication skills, both written and verbal, as you will be required to publish blogs and write investment reports.

As we operate from a home office environment, you must be a highly motivated individual that can work independently but also collaboratively in a team environment.

Compensation:

In addition to our competitive annual salary offering, we offer the following:

  • 28 days annual leave.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • Private healthcare insurance (optional).
  • Defined Contribution Pension plan (optional).
  • Cycle to work scheme (optional).

Sapphire is committed to facilitating a diverse and inclusive working environment.  We actively work towards attracting and retaining the best talent and believe strongly in high quality, on-the-job training. We promote equal opportunities for growth and development as we believe that diverse teams are the ones who can optimally deliver for our clients and customers.
