International Women's Day 2022

It is hard to celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day 2022 without thinking of the suffering and sacrifice of the women and children in Ukraine and others around the world who have faced unimaginable turmoil in the past year.

“Ahead of International Women’s Day, my sympathy and profound solidarity go to Ukrainian women and girls who are caught up in a war waged with total disregard for human life and dignity. I pay my deepest respects to those of them who have been killed, and my thoughts are with those who have been injured,”  Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Dunja Mijatović.

Families have been torn apart; hopes and aspirations for the future wiped out, temporarily at least, in the space of a week. Mothers separated from their sons, wives from their husbands, students from their career dreams.

It is easy to feel hopeless watching on from our safe and comfortable lives, but we can dedicate this year’s International Women's Day to these brave women and girls as a show of solidarity to all the women around the world who today might not feel much cause for celebration.

At Sapphire Capital Partners we have made a donation to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) campaign which are working tirelessly to help those in whatever capacity is required as they flee their homes.  The UK Government has pledged to match each pound raised by the public up to £25,000,000.
